DRC approves amenity center, dog park for Buchanan Trails subdivision

Alachua County staff presented a revised final development plan for an amenity center in the Buchanan Trails subdivision on Oct. 17. Staff described a pavilion, dog park, playground, sidewalk connections, shade trees and off-street parking for a 1.49-acre parcel at 485 Northwest 127th Drive. The lot had been reserved for an amenity center in a previously approved phase; the final development plan approved 03/02/2023 is under construction and staff found the revised plan consistent with the Comprehensive Plan and Unified Land Development Code.
Applicant engineer Mitchell Mason (CHW) said he had no materials to present and was available to answer questions. No public comment was recorded. A committee member moved to approve the revised final development plan and another committee member seconded. The Chair called a voice vote; members answered 'Aye' and no opposition was voiced. The motion passed by voice vote and the DRC approved the revised plan.
The committee closed its agenda, approved prior meeting minutes and adjourned at 2:04 p.m.
