Leslie McClendon of Alachua County Growth Management presented a revised final development plan for Celebration Point Block 1 on Oct. 17, describing approximately 15,000 square feet of warm-up facilities (two 7,500 sq ft lanes) to serve the Alachua County Sports and Events Center at 2650 Bass Pro Shops Boulevard.
McClendon told the Development Review Committee the proposal triggers the 1,500 square-foot impervious-surface threshold but does not require new stormwater improvements beyond existing approvals, preserves previously approved open space and tree conservation areas, and is consistent with the Alachua County Comprehensive Plan and the Unified Land Development Code. Staff recommended approval with conditions and noted conditions are provided in the staff report.
Applicant Sergio Reyes of EDA Consultants said the applicant had no formal presentation and was available to answer questions. No public comments were offered. A committee member moved to approve the revised final development plan “with conditions,” another committee member seconded, and the Chair called a voice vote. Members responded "Aye" and no opposition was voiced; the motion passed.
The committee took final action; if additional action is required by the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners, staff will notify interested parties of dates and times for any subsequent hearing.
