Board approves routine items, two‑year custodial extension and several contracts

Most votes were passed by voice vote after motion and second. The board approved the agenda and minutes from March 2, accepted bills for the month and approved the annual overnight 5th‑grade camps (Fancher May 13–15; Maguire May 27–29). The board also approved an overnight trip for seven students who qualified for the BPA national competition in Nashville, Tennessee.
On capital work, the board accepted a recommendation to award Bid Pack 7 (high school plumbing replacement) to William Walter Incorporated for summer work, after the administration noted the project will occur while school is out. The superintendent and administration recommended approval and the motion carried by voice vote.
The board also approved a two‑year extension to Romano Building Services’ custodial contract through June 30, 2028. The superintendent said the district recommended taking both years because the proposed increase was minimal.
Personnel actions approved included tenure actions for teachers who completed their probationary periods and administrative contract roll‑forwards for building leaders through June 30, 2028. The board approved central office contract extensions (Linda Boyd, Ginger Faber and Darby Weaver) through June 30, 2029. Several staff resignations included in the packet were also accepted by the board.
