The Saddle Brook Board of Education confirmed that the district’s 2026–27 budget is finalized and currently with the county office, and scheduled a public hearing for May 4 at 7:00 p.m. with final adoption slated for the regular board meeting on May 6, the business administrator reported.

The report, delivered during the business-administration segment of Monday’s meeting, said the county review remains the last administrative step before adoption and that budget documents will be posted on the district website before the public hearing. A motion to approve the board’s routine budget and finance consent items (BF2526.83–BF2526.90) passed by roll call during the meeting; one board member recorded abstentions on specific check numbers as noted in the minutes.

Why it matters: The public hearing is the formal opportunity for taxpayers and parents to review the proposed spending plan and ask questions before the board takes a final vote. The administration said the timeline gives the community access to budget details ahead of the hearing.

What the board recorded: A separate motion to approve education-and-curriculum consent items (E2526.56–E2526.60), which included a DECA field-trip request, also passed by roll call. Facilities and personnel consent blocks were approved in subsequent roll calls with abstentions recorded on some personnel and finance items.
