Rutherford County DSS introduces new hires in children's services

The Rutherford County Department of Social Services introduced new children's-services staff including Matthew Lehman (intake worker), Naya Taylor (adoption social worker), Mary Walt (economic services, food and nutrition) and Bridal Twitty; the board and director welcomed them.
At the start of the personnel report the Rutherford County Department of Social Services introduced several new staff who will serve in children's services and related areas.
Matthew Lehman said he graduated from Western Carolina University in 2023 and has taken a role working intake and assessments for children's services. "My name is Matthew Lehman. I graduated from Western Carolina University in 2023," he said.
Naya Taylor introduced herself as an adoption social worker and said she completed a master's degree at George Washington University. "My name is Naya Taylor. I graduated from Walker College in 2021 and then got my master's at George Washington University," she said.
Director Hunt also introduced Mary Walt, who started March 2 and has a background with the Department of Corrections and now works in economic services and food and nutrition. Bridal Twitty was introduced as a recent hire in food and nutrition with more than 20 years of payroll experience.
Board members and staff welcomed the new hires and thanked the department's supervisors for building the contractor base and supporting staff; Hunt noted the board's role in director hiring and said the board is helping with finding a replacement before Hunt leaves at the end of the month.
