Weatherford commission approves two plats, tables RV-park zoning amendment

The Weatherford Planning and Zoning Commission on July 16 approved two subdivision plats and postponed a zoning map amendment and conditional use permit for an RV park.
Staff presented the final plat for White Rock Homes phase 2, a proposal for 34 residential lots on roughly 10.273 acres at 1713 East Bankhead Drive. Staff noted the preliminary plat had been approved by City Council on June 24, 2025, recommended approval subject to subdivision-ordinance requirements and the commission voted to approve the final plat unanimously.
Commissioners also approved the preliminary plat for Heritage Hills, a proposed development of 89 lots on about 34.631 acres at 330 North Denton Road that would include 86 residential lots, two commercial lots and one HOA open-space lot for drainage and detention; staff recommended approval with standard conditions and the commission voted in favor.
On item 3d, a request by James McDonald to amend the zoning map from C-1 (general commercial) to C-2 (interstate commercial) and to grant a conditional use permit to allow an RV park/campground on about 10.97 acres at 2205 Tintop Road, the applicant submitted a letter requesting more time. The commission opened a public hearing, then voted to table the item to the next meeting at the applicant’s request.
