Edgewater police pension board elects Charles Geiger as chair, approves budget and meeting dates

At its September 2025 quarterly meeting the City of Edgewater Police Officers Pension Board elected Charles Geiger as chair, appointed David Williams secretary, approved the proposed 2025–26 budget and 2026 meeting dates, and accepted an updated summary plan description (Exhibit A to be finalized before distribution).
The City of Edgewater Police Officers Pension Board elected Charles Geiger as board chair and appointed David Williams secretary during its September 2025 quarterly meeting, and approved several administrative items including the proposed 2025–26 budget and the board’s 2026 meeting schedule.
The board convened with a quorum present. After roll call the board voted by voice to approve the June 9, 2025 minutes. Staff then presented proposed quarterly meeting dates for 2026 and a proposed fiscal 2025–26 budget, describing the budget column shown as a historical estimate that includes a built-in cushion for anomalies. Trustees moved, seconded and approved both items by voice vote.
The board also accepted an updated summary plan description. Staff noted Exhibit A would be updated before distribution; the motion to accept the update passed. During new-business announcements staff welcomed new trustee Scott Gabbard to finish a term and noted the recent passing of a former trustee.
No litigation or policy actions were adopted in this portion of the meeting. The board handled each administrative item via motion and voice vote; the record shows motions were seconded and approved without recorded roll-call tallies for each item.
The meeting proceeded to actuarial and investment presentations after these approvals; the board later adopted an experience-study option and heard a quarterly investment performance report from its consultant.
