The Danbury Environmental Impact Commission approved a regulated-activity application for Country Ridge Road on Nov. 13 after the applicant revised plans to address staff comments on planting, mitigation and a head wall.
Engineer Mike Mazzuco told the commission he added detail to the plans — including a three-foot stone head wall, expanded plantings along the driveway and a demarcation line — to respond to staff review. A staff member explained condition number three will require a demarcation feature to be submitted to staff for approval before construction; staff also noted a bond and a requirement that a qualified environmental consultant monitor construction.
A commissioner moved to approve the activity conditioned as listed in the staff report; the motion carried. Staff said minor revisions that move the work further away from the regulated resource can be authorized by staff, but any changes that bring activity closer to the resource would require a modified permit and return to the commission.
Separately, commissioners sought an update on an ongoing violation at Barnum Road; staff said counsel is still in discussions. The commission voted to table action on that continuing violation pending further follow-up.
Administrative items included moving the December regular meeting to Dec. 18 and a holiday party scheduled for Dec. 5 at "Marketplace," which commissioners noted will be held as a private gathering with separate checks.
The commission adjourned at the conclusion of the agenda.
