The Danbury Environmental Impact Commission voted to table consideration of a wetlands application for 124–126 Brushy Hill Road until its Dec. 11 meeting after hearing the applicant’s presentation and scheduling a site inspection.
For the record, engineer Mike Mazzuco said he represents the applicant Russ Mulari and described the parcel as a 1.5-acre vacant lot with an on-site wetland running parallel to the road. He provided a wetlands area figure of "16,838 square feet" and described proposed crossings that would use two 12-inch pipes.
Commissioners scheduled a site inspection for the next day with two commissioners attending; staff said it would forward any follow-up questions from commissioners to the applicant via email. Following that scheduling and brief Q&A about drainage and downstream flow, a commissioner moved to table the matter to the next regular meeting; the motion carried.
The applicant noted prior flagging and that the plan attempts to minimize wetland disturbance by locating house and septic in a corner of the site; he said owners may market the property after obtaining wetlands and health approvals.
The commission did not take substantive action on the merits of the application at the Nov. 13 meeting; it instead deferred further consideration pending the site inspection and any additional commission questions.
