DRC approves revised parking and driveway plan for Abiding Savior Lutheran Church with conservation conditions

The Alachua County Development Review Committee on July 18 approved with conditions a revised final development plan for Abiding Savior Lutheran Church at 9700 West Newberry Road to pave an existing drive area and add parking.
"A construction permit cannot be issued until the applicant has recorded in the public records of Alachua County the required permanent protection document regarding on-site conservation management areas and provided such proof for recording or recording with the construction permit application," senior planner Leslie McClendon told the committee. She said conservation management area (CMA) boundaries will include associated signage and permanent markers and, if determined necessary as part of final design, fencing shall be installed prior to issuance of the construction permit.
McClendon described the project area as roughly three-quarters of an acre of the site's 10.83 acres and emphasized that about five acres of the property is designated as a conservation management area (wetlands and wetland buffers). She said staff recommends approval with conditions to protect the CMA and to ensure stormwater from the paved area ties into existing infrastructure.
The applicant, Paul Moore, stated for the record that he had no further comments. A committee member moved to approve the revised final development plan with conditions and another seconded; the motion passed by voice vote.
The approval is conditional on the recording of the required protection document and installation of CMA signage/markers (and potential fencing) coordinated with the Alachua County Environmental Protection Department before construction-permit issuance.
