Eagle Township hires Patrick O’Neill as hall maintenance; board authorizes $350 for background check

Supervisor Troy Stroud called the Eagle Township special meeting to order at 6:04 p.m. at the Eagle Twp. Hall in Eagle, Michigan. Clerk Laurie Briggs-Dudley moved to approve the agenda; Supervisor Stroud supported the motion and the board approved it.
Clerk Laurie Briggs-Dudley moved, supported by Trustee Michelle Hoppes, to hire Patrick O’Neill as the township hall maintenance person subject to a background check. The board approved the motion (recorded as "Motion carried").
Briggs-Dudley then moved, again supported by Trustee Hoppes, to authorize up to $350 to cover the background-check fees for the new hire; the motion carried. Trustee Hoppes moved, supported by Briggs-Dudley, to allow up to one month of overlap between the outgoing and incoming maintenance workers to facilitate the transition; that motion also carried.
The board recorded the following attendance: Trustee Dennis Strahle, Supervisor Troy Stroud, Clerk Laurie Briggs-Dudley and Trustee Michelle Hoppes were present; Treasurer Chelsea Hoppes was absent. Citizen Patrick O’Neill was listed as present in the minutes. There were no public comments recorded.
The special meeting was adjourned at 6:41 p.m. after the motions passed.
