Eagle Township's board approved several administrative items during a special meeting on Oct. 22, 2024, and heard a report on regional emergency-service coordination.
Trustee Dennis Strahle reported that Ingham County is considering a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance and that Dewitt Area is considering joining a mutual aid system of which the Looking Glass Regional Fire Authority is a member. The transcript renders the mutual-aid system name as "MAVASMABAS"; the minutes do not provide a clearer spelling or additional identifying details.
Clerk Laurie Briggs-Dudley moved, supported by Treasurer Chelsea Hoppes, to update the winter tax newsletter to add hall rental information in the website block and to add a sentence that the Master Plan is available on the Eagle Township website. The motion authorized Treasurer Chelsea Hoppes and Trustee Michelle Hoppes to finalize wording if space was limited; the motion carried.
The board noted that the State Capitol Christmas tree cutting ceremony is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 1, beginning at 8:45 a.m. at 13451 S Tallman Rd, Eagle.
Clerk Briggs-Dudley said she would review hall maintenance duties with an interested applicant and, if the applicant remains interested, would schedule a special board meeting to conduct an interview.
The meeting adjourned at 7:18 p.m.
