John Clark, chairperson of the Looking Glass Regional Fire Authority, briefed Eagle Township trustees on Oct. 17 about sharp increases in service demand and near‑term administrative steps.
Clark reported that runs in the LGRFA service area (Eagle and Watertown townships) rose 40% to 1,000 runs and that medical runs in that area rose 20% to about 500. Across the authority’s entire service area, total runs increased by 800 to 1,900 runs, with roughly 1,300 medical calls. To address revenue and billing clarity, LGRFA members will meet with Accumed, the third‑party ambulance biller, to clarify which events are billable. Clark also said bookkeeping services will be put out to bid for 2025 and that LGRFA personnel will meet next week with a grant writer concerning a FEMA grant application.
