Trustee Michelle Hoppes told the board that a joint meeting on Sept. 10 between the Eagle Township Board and the Planning Commission covered wind, solar and battery storage ordinance language. She commended the joint session and said Chris Khorey of McKenna Associates will follow up on the version of the ordinance provided by the law firm Foster Swift. The planning commission will review that draft and then forward recommended changes to the township board for consideration.
Board members did not adopt ordinance language at the Sept. 19 meeting; instead, the item remains in the review stage with McKenna Associates and the planning commission responsible for the next steps. The record shows this as a continuation of the township's land‑use review process rather than a final policy decision.
Next steps: McKenna Associates will circulate follow‑up materials to the planning commission; the commission will review and forward recommendations to the township board.
