Falmouth conservation commission issues several determinations, approves orders of conditions and adjourns

The Falmouth Conservation Commission voted on several staff-recommended determinations and issued orders of conditions on a series of matters at its June 10 meeting.

Staff recommended—and the commission adopted—a negative 3 under the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act and a negative 2 under the Falmouth bylaw for drainage improvements on Turner Road and a portion of Thomas B. Landers Road, concluding the work was within a protected area but would not remove, fill, dredge or alter resource areas. The commission similarly approved a negative 5 (state exemption) and negative 2 (bylaw) determination for vegetation management proposed by the Massachusetts Coastal Railroad right-of-way, with staff citing WPA exemptions. A negative 2 under state and bylaw was also adopted for a Title 5 sewage disposal system at 56 Field Street; staff noted resource area boundaries were not confirmed and that the site lies in an AE flood zone.

The commission issued orders of conditions for several Notices of Intent, including property work discussed for 380 Wild Harbour Road and for 29 Miami Ave (Maria and James Crowley), with staff prescribing additional mitigation and a revised site plan where required. Each issuance was moved, seconded and approved by roll-call vote recorded in the transcript.

The meeting closed with a motion to adjourn that passed on roll call. Several hearings were continued to allow the submission of revised plans and required filings (for example, continuances to July 1 and July 15 noted in the meeting).
