"So this is an item in front of you. It's below budget," Grama said, noting the packet shows a $75,000 allowance for signage.
Commissioners asked whether the quoted package covered both north and south monument signs and whether the quote included the interior crests and ADA signage; Grama confirmed the purchase price covers the double-faced monument sign for both entrances and the other listed elements. Members of the public raised concerns about using the phrase "government campus" on signs; one commenter said changing the name this late in the process was surprising.
During discussion, a commissioner proposed an amendment to ensure the signs read "Lincoln County Justice Center" rather than "Government Campus." The amended motion passed on roll call (three in favor, one opposed). The chair confirmed the project remains under the $75,000 budgeted amount.
Next steps: the county will proceed with procurement and permitting for the signage; taxes and permit costs will be applied to the final purchase price as required.
