Staff said the contract includes administrative corrections requested by the city attorney (extending the payment turnaround from 10 to 30 days and specifying the venue for legal disputes).
The proposed contract will allow the electric department to schedule annual trimming within the $50,000 limit; staff and council discussed contractor track record and the desire to manage annual volume to fit the budget cap. A council member moved to approve the five-year agreement and members recorded affirmative votes.
Council did not expand the scope beyond routine trimming and directed staff to proceed with the contract under the corrected terms.
