Hobart redevelopment director rolls out expanded events calendar, youth programming and hires full-time events coordinator

The director said the after-school slot would begin around 3:00 p.m. and run roughly until 5:00 p.m. for general programs, while CAPS activities at the police complex are expected to run about 3:30–6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and include homework help, guitars, keyboards, painting and other supervised activities.
On staffing, the director announced the authority has hired Corinne, who previously helped with events last summer and worked part time; she will now serve full time to contact vendors, run logistics and coordinate the events season. “She can do the whole thing and try to, you know, get with them,” the director said.
The director also noted the authority will attempt to align the market season with park construction, aiming to run the market through August if a park timeline allows. The director said construction is expected to begin around Sept. 1, which would permit the market season to continue as usual through August.
The meeting record shows the authority had no substantive questions about the director’s report and moved on to other agenda items. The authority did not set firm enrollment limits for the youth programming and said it would expand the schedule if demand warrants. The director indicated a March start for the after-school program but did not provide a specific opening date or an enrollment cap.
