The Big Horn County Commission on May 19 approved a series of administrative items: accounts payable and payroll, multiple MOUs and agreements, and four simple subdivisions. Deputy County Clerks Marquerite VanDyke and Carol Willard presented the bills; Commissioner Dave Neves moved to approve them and the motion carried.
Planning and Zoning items included four recommended simple subdivisions—Meier 26-003, Yoder 26-005, Bontrager 26-006 and Smith 26-008—which the commission approved after staff said water issues for the Yoder parcel had been addressed and any change would have required State Water Engineer approval.
The commission approved a Public Health Nursing and Maternal Child Health MOU with the Wyoming Department of Health, the State Fire annual operating plan, an agreement for legislative funding under House Enrolled Act 58, a UW Extension MOU, a boundary adjustment to add Hutchinson property to the Northwest Rural Water District, and the South Big Horn County Landfill C&D pit permit application for DEQ.
Commissioners debated three draft salary resolutions. Commissioner Neves said he favored draft #3 based on increased state reimbursement for county attorney costs; Chairman Deb Craft said she agreed; Commissioner Bruce Jolley preferred option 1 or 2, citing legislative uncertainty. Neves moved to approve Resolution 10-2025-2026 draft #3, Craft seconded, and the motion carried by a vote of 2 yay and 1 nay. The minutes do not record which commissioners cast the recorded yea or nay votes.
