"This is the standard annual renewal with Orianna House," the law director said, adding the city pays for services when local municipal judges sentence eligible defendants to community corrections. Steve Schmidt provided budget context: fees increased by roughly one percentage point (from 24% to 25%), but the law department has $10,000 in its operating budget to cover the cost and the city's six-year average has been about $1,400 per year for these fees.
Committee members characterized the item as housekeeping and indicated no reason not to take the resolution up on second reading during the regular meeting.
