Weatherford council approves preliminary and final plats for University Hills phases 3 and 4

The Weatherford City Council on Oct. 28 approved preliminary and final plats for University Hills phases 3 and 4, a residential subdivision totaling about 97 lots on approximately 39.61 acres along Rick Williams Memorial Highway.
City planning staff presented the proposal and recommended approval subject to the requirements of the subdivision ordinance. Staff said all lots meet minimum size requirements and that topography and drainage were considered in the design. A staff member said the subdivision will receive city water and sewer service while electric service will be provided by Tri County (outside the Weatherford Electric certified area).
Council members asked technical questions about utilities and the homeowners association (HOA) lot. A council member asked whether the HOA lot is intended for the detention pond; staff confirmed that the HOA lot will contain the detention pond. After discussion, a motion to approve the plats carried.
The approvals cover: preliminary plat and final plats for University Hills Phase 3 (55 lots, ~25 acres) and Phase 4 (42 lots, ~14.61 acres) as described in the staff report and consistent with the subdivision ordinance. No amendments or conditions beyond the ordinance requirements were recorded in the public discussion.
The council’s action authorizes staff to proceed with plat-related permitting and required administrative steps under the subdivision ordinance.
