Rutherford DSS board elects Leon Gondla chair, names Brian King vice chair

The Rutherford County Department of Social Services board elected Leon Gondla as chair and Brian King as vice chair at its July meeting.
The board opened nominations for chair, and Board member Manoni nominated Leon Gondla “as chair of the Rutherford DSS,” a nomination that was seconded and approved by a voice vote. The board later amended the agenda to add a vice-chair election. Brian King was nominated and, after a second, the board voted in favor.
The actions were formal motions on the meeting floor. Chair called for the votes and members responded with voice votes of “aye.” The board took both votes during the regular meeting after adopting the agenda with the added leadership-election item.
The meeting moved on to program, personnel and budget reports after the reorganization votes. The board adjourned at the end of the session.
