Ongoing and upcoming community programming includes a weekly Mother's Group beginning next week, Holiday Card Making on Nov. 24 (at Canaan Kids Art Space), a centerpiece‑making workshop on Dec. 8 (with 20% of proceeds to the library), a children's gingerbread house activity on Dec. 1, and a Holiday Party on Dec. 12. The Local Artist Cards project has received images from several artists with initial cards planned for Nov. 16, and volunteer Eliza Rosler will lead a Library Seed Catalog Project and an accompanying sale area to support the Library of Things.
The minutes also note the board’s fundraising appeal letter is slated for first‑week-of‑December mailing and thanked members assisting with the effort. Holiday hours were announced: the library will close at 5:00 p.m. Nov. 26 for Thanksgiving and reopen Dec. 1; staff shortages prevented opening on the Saturday after Thanksgiving this year but the board indicated intent to open that Saturday in future years.
