Green finance department receives Auditor of State Award with Distinction

Tina Ludwig, Northeast Regional Liaison for Auditor of State Keith Faber, presented the Auditor of State Award with Distinction to the City of Green’s finance department during the Sept. 23 council meeting.
“It is my honor to be here on behalf of Auditor Faber to present the Auditor of State Award with distinction to the City of Greene,” Ludwig said, explaining the award is given to entities that file timely GAAP‑based financial reports, receive a clean audit report, and contain no material findings. Ludwig said only about 4% of the Auditor’s clients qualify for the distinction after their annual audits.
Ludwig and Mayor Yergin recognized Finance Director Shelly Goodrich for leadership, professionalism and contribution to fiscal integrity. The mayor also acknowledged former Finance Director Steve Schmidt for work that helped lead to the award.
The council applauded the finance department; no vote was required for the presentation.
