He added the city will send correspondence to residents to advise them of the recommendation.
Davidis also said a House measure intended to provide unified ZIP‑code designations has passed the U.S. House and is pending in the U.S. Senate. He urged residents to contact Senators Husted and Marino and to notify the Postal Service of local support, though the meeting record did not include a specific bill number for the measure.
The planning committee advised residents to continue using ZIP‑code numerics as the determining factor for mail delivery and said the city will continue advocacy while awaiting further federal action.
