Commission recommends vacating Conway Drive, forwarding revised plat to council

Applicant Matthew Weymouth presented the revised plat and said he had addressed the commission’s earlier comments. Staff and the commission noted Ohio law requires an equal division of the vacated land; staff explained the surveyor adjusted frontages so the north and south sides each receive equivalent frontage. “The frontage is as equal as it can be,” staff said, summarizing the survey adjustments.
Commissioners also discussed potential future leasing and site plans for the north parcel and noted the plat will be used to support future site negotiations if the city council approves the vacation. A motion recommending the revised plat to City Council was made and passed on roll call.
The matter will proceed to City Council, where the council may consider the plat vacation and any associated easements or lease arrangements.
