Board proclaims Feb. 11 '2-1-1 Day'; 2-1-1 Bay Area says it helped 18,663 Solano residents in 2025

The Solano County Board of Supervisors on Feb. 10 adopted a resolution recognizing Feb. 11 as 2-1-1 Day and heard remarks from Claire Marcus, senior director of 2-1-1 Bay Area.
The resolution passed by a 4-0 vote. The clerk read language describing 2-1-1 as a free, confidential service available 24/7 that connects residents to resources including housing, food, health care and transportation.
Claire Marcus told supervisors that 2-1-1 Bay Area is more than a helpline: "It's a lifeline," she said, and described hearing from callers who say the contact with 2-1-1 is the first human interaction they’ve had that day. Marcus said that in 2025 the two-one-one network helped 18,663 Solano County residents and generated 32,198 referrals to services.
Marcus also announced a two-month art contest to recognize local artists and raise awareness of 2-1-1’s role in the community. She thanked the board for its partnership and encouraged residents to use the service when in need.
The resolution recognizes 2-1-1 Bay Area’s role in disaster response and community resource navigation; no funding or policy changes were proposed during the public session.
The board moved on to other business and later adjourned to closed session to discuss labor negotiations.
