At the start of the meeting the council heard a presentation from Caitlin Cuvion of Enterprise Fleet Management about leasing, maintenance and fuel‑card options for the Princeton Police Department and welcomed three new hires to the department.
Caitlin (speaker S10), an account executive with Enterprise Fleet Management, described the firm's services—buying and selling vehicles, tracking maintenance and fuel costs, claims management and resale planning—and said the company helps clients by improving cash flow, rotating vehicles on three‑year cycles and incorporating aftermarket equipment into lease packages. She said Enterprise can take over fuel‑card programs (WEX) and consolidate invoices to improve oversight. Caitlin said municipalities often favor leasing for cash‑flow advantages but that paying cash or financing remain options.
Separately Bobby (speaker S8) introduced three new police hires: Lucas Harper (scheduled for a physical‑training test July 17 and academy entry July 20), Selena Carpenter and Oksana Allen (both enrolled at the law‑enforcement academy and entering the FTO process). Council members welcomed the hires and congratulated the new officers.
Why it matters: The fleet presentation outlined procurement and financing options that could affect equipment budgets and maintenance operations; the new hires address staffing needs in the police department.
Next steps: Staff will include fleet recommendations in the budget process and follow up with Enterprise if the council wants to pursue a contract; the police department will proceed with the new hires’ academy and FTO schedules.
