Arapahoe council approves claims, sets Memorial Park as Statue of Liberty site and makes library appointments

Claims and expenses: A motion by Councilman Middagh, seconded by Councilman Kreutzer, approved claims and expenses for Nov. 6–19, 2024. The packet lists TOTAL EXPENSES of $190,064.36; the motion passed by roll call with ayes from Middagh, Kreutzer, tenBensel and Polston.
Parks: Councilman tenBensel moved and Councilman Polston seconded a motion to place the Statue of Liberty display in Memorial Park. The motion passed by roll call vote (ayes Kreutzer, tenBensel, Polston, Middagh).
Library board: Councilman Middagh moved, Councilman Kreutzer seconded approval of the recommended appointments of Gina Ellis and Ashley Leising to the Library Board; the motion passed on a 4-0 roll call.
Closed session and adjournment: The council voted to go into closed session at 8:28 p.m. 'to protect the financial integrity of the city' and reconvened at 9:18 p.m.; both motions passed on roll call votes. With no further business, the meeting was adjourned by unanimous consent at 9:20 p.m. Assistant City Clerk Dixie Sickels certified the minutes and compliance with the Nebraska Open Meetings Act.
