Rushford council approves Rushford Days permits and sale of former coop building

Mayor Leigh Volkman opened the meeting at 6:30 p.m. The council quickly approved the evening’s agenda and the minutes of the March 23 meeting before moving to public notices and business.
Historical Society President Terri Benson described plans for a Grand Reopening party for the depot on Tuesday, June 9, from 5 to 9 p.m., saying the interior renovation (phase one) will be finished by that date and that exterior work will follow in a later phase. City Administrator Hayden Stensgard reminded residents of a swimming‑lesson sign‑up on Saturday, May 16 (9–11 a.m.) and noted that Brooklyn Days begins the same day at noon.
Votes at a glance: the council approved three resolutions during the meeting. He said he has spoken multiple times with a neighboring business about moving two vehicles so the concrete work can proceed. Stensgard also said the city is working to reactivate Medicare and Medicaid enrollments and has been asked to provide additional information; he noted a public hearing set for May 27 on a home‑occupation permit to sell food and drinks from a residence.
