The Arapahoe City Council approved claims totaling $143,094.23 during its Dec. 17 meeting and separately approved gifting the theatre’s checking account and CDs to the community while retaining responsibility for the facility’s utilities.
Councilman Kreutzer moved and Councilman tenBensel seconded approval of claims after staff presented receipts and an itemized expenses list. The minutes list total receipts of $212,774.11 and itemized expenditures that include payroll, utility payments and vendor invoices. The roll call recorded Ayes from Carpenter, Polston, Middagh, Kreutzer, tenBensel and Paulsen. Two abstentions were recorded for specific line items: Middagh abstained on claim #274 for $287.07, and Paulsen abstained on claim #102730 for $50.00. The minutes declare the motion carried.
Separately, the council approved a motion by Councilman tenBensel, seconded by Councilman Kreutzer, to gift the Theatre checking account and CDs that are on file with the city; the city will continue paying the theatre’s utilities. That motion passed by roll call with no recorded opposition.
Among the larger line items listed in the minutes were NPPD November power at $44,953.19 and South Central Sanitation November fees at $12,970.25. The minutes also record payroll entries for December totaling $20,141 (Dec. 2 and Dec. 17 pay periods) and several vendor payments for routine supplies and services.
