Home II, which serves 36 children, will receive $200 per month, or $7,200 per year. The total annual commitment is $9,000, and the city’s Economic Development fund will reimburse the electric utility for the expense.
The vote followed the City Superintendent’s and Treasurer’s routine reports and came during the meeting’s economic development item. The council did not specify a sunset date for the reimbursement; the measure was adopted as a recurring annual expense charged to Economic Development’s budget unless changed at a future meeting.
The council’s unanimous vote sends the reimbursement into effect subject to routine administrative steps by staff. The meeting minutes record no public opposition during the motion and no amendments to the proposal.
