Council tables decision on RV park zoning and conditional-use permit to Aug. 26 at applicant’s request

The Weatherford City Council tabled consideration of a zoning map amendment and conditional-use permit for a proposed recreational vehicle park and campground on roughly 10.97 acres near Top Road to the council’s Aug. 26 meeting.
Staff told the council the applicant, James McDonald, asked that the item be tabled. Planning staff noted there had been multiple previous continuances at Planning & Zoning and that communication from the applicant had been intermittent. "The communication is coming back from them has been rather slow," a planning staff member said, and staff recommended tabling the matter to allow more complete information to be provided to Planning & Zoning before council action.
The mayor opened the public hearing; no speakers addressed the item, and the council approved a motion to table the request to a date certain of Aug. 26. Council members asked staff to encourage the applicant to provide the requested materials and to appear before Planning & Zoning in advance of the next council meeting.
Tabling preserves the current zoning and allows time for the applicant to supply the information Planning & Zoning needs to formulate a recommendation.
