Arapahoe council approves payroll, several façade and rehab grants; SDL set for Wagner’s Supermarket on Dec. 6

Councilmembers approved the minutes of the Sept. 17, 2024 regular meeting on a motion by Councilman Carpenter, seconded by Councilman Paulsen. An abstention was recorded by Councilman Middagh on Claim #7 for $30.39; otherwise the claims motion passed by roll call.
On other business the council approved a special designated liquor (SDL) application for Wagner’s Supermarket for Dec. 6, 2024. The SDL was approved on a motion by Councilman Middagh, seconded by Councilman Carpenter; recorded ayes were Middagh, Paulsen, Carpenter and Polston, and tenBensel and Kreutzer were noted as absent/not voting.
The council approved a $1,126.65 façade rehab grant for Arapahoe Rehab & Fitness (Claim #102568) on a motion by Councilman Polston, seconded by Councilman Paulsen; the motion passed by roll call. A $2,500 façade grant for First Central Bank (Claim #102582) was approved on a motion by Councilman Paulsen, seconded by Councilman Middagh; recorded ayes were Carpenter, Middagh and Paulsen and Councilman Polston recorded an abstention. The council also approved the first half of a $10,000 house rehabilitation grant for Ryan and Sheila Webb (Claim #102590) on a motion by Councilman Carpenter, seconded by Councilman Middagh; the motion passed by roll call.
The financial claims list attached to the minutes itemized numerous vendor payments and larger disbursements, including a $143,918 LARM policy payment, $131,161.13 to NPPD (power), and a $50,000 contribution to the Republic Valley Golden Years Foundation. The minutes record that the city clerk certified the minutes and supporting documents are available for public inspection.
