At its regular meeting, the Munising City Commission pulled the police report from the consent agenda for separate review, discussed an anomalous mileage entry, and ultimately approved the consent agenda and the police chief’s monthly report.
During the consent-agenda review the chair asked if anyone wished to speak; Commissioner Wilkinson moved to remove the police report from consent so the item could be discussed in old city business. The commission approved that motion and then returned to approve the remaining consent agenda items.
When the police report was discussed, commissioners questioned a January 7 mileage figure that appeared as 1,673 (or 1,600+, depending on how totals were tallied). Commissioners and staff discussed whether the number reflected combined vehicle totals and whether a clarifying annotation should be added to the bottom of future reports; staff agreed to add a comment explaining the mileage breakdown.
Commissioner Williams moved to approve the police chief’s monthly report and Commissioner Descartes seconded; the commission carried the motion on a voice vote.
The clerk recorded the motions and the consent actions. No formal disciplinary or investigatory actions were taken in the meeting record; the discussion centered on record clarity and future report formatting.
