Solano employees raise $55,755; county keeps County Care Holiday Food Fight trophy

Matthew Davis said that combined donations from Solano and Contra Costa counties totaled $123,160; Solano employees and their supporters contributed $55,755.
Representatives of the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano described the local impact. A Food Bank speaker said the organization serves roughly 27,000 households per month in Solano County and estimated the Solano portion of donations would translate into approximately 100,000 meals for local residents. County staff recognized department contributors and presented trophies (department awards were given for sustained giving and dollars per employee); the "Big Apple" trophy stays in Solano County for a sixth consecutive year.
Supervisors and staff thanked volunteers and local business donors and noted the event's role in strengthening cross‑departmental cooperation and community partnerships.
