The Meridian representative, now serving as CEO, highlighted telehealth growth (about 3,500 Alachua residents receiving 21,000 telehealth sessions in the year), housing and supportive services programs, and the January 2025 opening of a central receiving facility intended to streamline behavioral-health crisis intake for law enforcement. The representative told the board Meridian manages HUD-supported housing units and multiple grant-funded programs, and said local contract funding helps secure matching dollars.
County response and follow-up: Commissioners voted to accept Meridian's presentation and funding request. They asked Meridian to provide additional metrics on central-receiving outcomes, such as the number of diversions from incarceration attributable to the CRF and data on reduced law-enforcement drop-off times. Meridian agreed to provide follow-up reports to the advisory council and county staff.
