Green honors Clerk Nicole Messner for Master Municipal Clerk designation

At its Nov. 26 meeting the Green City Council and a representative of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks presented Clerk Nicole Messner with her Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designation in a brief recognition ceremony.
The Green City Council paused council business on Nov. 26 to recognize Clerk Nicole Messner for earning the Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designation from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.
Sharon Casler, clerk of council in Cambridge and a past president of the Ohio Municipal Clerks Association and the IIMC, presented Messner with the certificate and outlined the MMC program’s focus on advanced continuing education and professional development for municipal clerks. Casler said the IIMC promotes education, certification and research for clerks and praised Messner’s perseverance in completing the academy.
"It is with great pleasure that I stand before you tonight to officially present your clerk, Nicole Messner, with her Master Municipal Clerk designation," Casler said.
Mayor Rocco Yerigan and Council President Mager offered congratulations. Messner thanked colleagues, family and friends in the audience for their support and acknowledged the council’s support for allowing her to pursue continuing education.
Casler noted the institute’s broad membership and characterized the MMC as a comparatively rare, advanced professional designation; she also told the council that about 40 MMCs are in Ohio. Council members thanked Messner for her service and for representing the city in the profession.
The council then returned to routine business.
