Chair presented Resolution 26,068 to accept a fee proposal from Pickering Firm Incorporated for construction engineering and inspection services for the South Caraway Road widening (Parker Road to Fox Meadow Lane) in the amount of $374,157.81 and directed staff to issue a purchase order if approved by full council.
A committee member asked about schedule and staff (Speaker 6) replied, “The bids are scheduled to be opened on July 15. … We’re hoping to see a groundbreaking by late August, early September, but it’s gonna be a two‑construction‑season project. So they’ll get started this fall … possibly by the end of next 2027 that it would be complete.” The staff comment framed the timeline as tentative, dependent on bid results.
A resident, Patty Black, asked whether the roadway would be five lanes down to Fox Meadow or transition to three lanes. Staff clarified that the current plans call for a five‑lane cross section from Parker Road to Latterette, then a transition to a three‑lane section south to Glen’s Place, with a 10‑foot side path continuing to Fox Meadow.
The committee voted to forward Resolution 26,068 to full council for formal approval and contract execution.
