MIDDLETOWN — The Middletown Public Safety Commission unanimously approved a motion on March 16 to accept a donation from Liberty Bank intended to buy smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms and to forward the item to the finance and government committee for processing.
During new business, Fire Chief Albert said the department received a check from Liberty Bank and asked that commissioners move the donation to the finance committee. “We received the check today, so I just need a vote to move that to finance and government,” Chief Albert said.
The chair then introduced a motion “to accept the Liberty Bank check for ... the purchase of smoke detectors and CO alarms and move that to finance and government.” Councilman Giuffico moved the motion and Councilwoman Linda Salafia seconded. The commission voted in favor by voice vote and the matter was forwarded to the finance and government committee.
