Wheatland council approves routine resolutions, agrees to G-Works cloud migration and WGML payment

On Jan. 13 the Wheatland City Council approved a package of routine resolutions (depository, newspaper, clerk pre-payments), set a Feb. 10 public hearing for a FY2025 budget amendment, approved a one-time $3,000 payment to WGML, and authorized signing the G-Works ordering document to migrate to cloud-based software mid-2025. At the Wheatland City Council’s Jan. 13 meeting, members approved a series of routine administrative resolutions and operational items.
The council approved Resolution 2025-07 designating a depository for 2025 (motion by Council Member Hicks, second by Council Member Stankee). It approved Resolution 2025-08 designating a newspaper for 2025 (motion by Council Member Stankee, second by Council Member Grau) and Resolution 2025-09 authorizing the clerk to make pre-meeting payments in 2025 (motion by Council Member Grau, second by Council Member Houzenga). The motions passed by voice vote with all ayes.
The council set a public hearing for Budget Amendment #1 for the FY2025 annual budget on Feb. 10, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. (Resolution 2025-10; motion by Council Member Fauser, second by Council Member Hicks). The council also approved Resolution 2025-11, a one-time operating payment of $3,000 to WGML (motion by Council Member Stankee, second by Council Member Grau).
On technology and operations, the council approved signing the G-Works ordering document to move to a cloud-based version of the city’s software mid-2025 (motion by Council Member Hicks, second by Council Member Houzenga). The council also authorized the city clerk to attend three professional trainings: the Municipal Institute Winter Session (Feb. 5–7, 2025), the IMFOA Conference (April 9–11, 2025) and the Municipal Professional Academy (June 9–13, 2025); each authorization passed by motion and voice vote.
