Assembly elects clerk, stenographer and sergeant at arms and adopts rules for 2025–26

Resolutions electing Mary Ann E. Gandels as Clerk, Marina Pugliese as official stenographer and Wayne P. Jackson as Sergeant at Arms were offered, put to voice votes and declared adopted. After the votes, the presiding officer formally declared each candidate duly elected to the respective office.
The Assembly then considered the resolution adopting the rules of the Assembly for 2025 and 2026, continuing the rules from the prior session as last amended. The acting clerk recorded the vote results as "Ayes 102, Noes 41," and the resolution was adopted. Majority Leader People Stokes moved the rules resolution and the clerk recorded the vote totals.
Separately, the Assembly adopted a resolution directing the clerk to arrange seats for press representatives and appointed committees of two to notify the governor and the senate that the Assembly had organized and elected a speaker.
These actions concluded the formal organization of the chamber for the session; the Assembly then moved on to introduce newly elected members and adjourned until the next legislative day.
