The commission approved a $35,000 auto-theft and violence grant that the chief described as a recurring award the department has received previously. The chief requested authorization to accept the funds for crime-reduction efforts; members moved, seconded and the Chair called the vote. The motion passed.
Members also accepted a donated 2017 Toyota Highlander from Middletown Toyota for the PAL program. The chief said the vehicle has approximately 100,000 miles and that the city will encumber registration and insurance and handle maintenance costs through the usual channels. A motion to accept the donation was made and seconded and the Chair called the vote; the motion passed.
With no further business, a motion to adjourn carried and the Chair declared the meeting adjourned at 6:54 p.m.
