Haddad chosen as chair; Rick Jowdy named vice chair at Danbury zoning commission

The Danbury City Zoning Commission completed organizational business at the Jan. 13, 2026 meeting, electing leadership and making routine administrative appointments.

Commissioner Botello nominated Ted Haddad for chairman; Commissioner O'Neil seconded the nomination and the commission elected Haddad by voice vote. Haddad acknowledged the support and accepted the role.

For vice chairman, Chairman Haddad nominated Commissioner Rick Jowdy (identified in the record as Rick Jowdy). After a second, the commission took a roll-call vote. The roll call recorded the following explicit votes in the transcript: Commissioner Bennett — "I vote for mister Jowdy"; Commissioner Botello — yes; Commissioner Fuchs — absent; Commissioner Hall — yes; Commissioner James — absent; Commissioner Jowdy — "I vote for myself, Rick Jowdy"; Commissioner O'Neil — yes; Commissioner Trotta — no; Chairman Haddad indicated his support for Jowdy. The chair also appointed Commissioners Jowdy, Botello and Bennett to a three-member ZBA subcommittee to conduct on-site reviews and prepare referrals to the Zoning Commission on appeals. The commission accepted the schedule of 2026 meetings (generally the second and fourth Tuesday of each month) and moved to accept the Nov. 25, 2025 minutes; the minutes acceptance motion was seconded and carried.

With no public hearings or new business on the agenda, Commissioner Botello moved to adjourn; the motion was seconded and the meeting adjourned at 7:51 p.m.
