Board backs prefabricated restroom for Creek Farm Park, cites November–December delivery window

The Green City Design Review Board on May 7 voted to forward a favorable recommendation to the planning commission for a prefabricated restroom at Creek Farm Park, endorsing a manufacturer’s unit the city said will improve sightlines to adjacent ball fields.
City presenter Mike Elgin described the proposed building as a 20‑by‑26‑foot concrete structure with a 12‑foot gable roof and four individual restrooms. Elgin said the entry doors were relocated so parents can see players walking to and from the facility: “For safety reasons, we don't want those doors on the south side. We want parents to be able to see their kids walking in the restroom,” he said.
Elgin said the restroom will have a concrete pad around the building for accessibility and maintenance, and that the unit will use magnetic time locks to secure doors after hours. The design will include a bottle filler rather than a traditional drinking fountain. He told the board the manufacturer has roughly a five‑ to six‑month lead time and that delivery to the site would probably occur in November or December.
A board member who coaches at the park supported the timing to avoid overlapping construction with the baseball season. The board then moved and carried a favorable recommendation to the planning commission by roll call. The recommendation is advisory; final approvals and construction scheduling will be handled through the planning commission and permitting process.
