The City of Green Planning and Zoning Commission on May 21 recommended approval of a freestanding masonry identification sign for Kleckner Park, using the Central Park sign as a template and positioning it perpendicular to Greensburg Road.
Mike Elkins and planning staff presented renderings and said the sign would be sited at the Thursby and Greensburg Road intersection with a 30-foot setback and a landscape plan similar to the Central Park installation. Staff noted a young tree within the right-of-way could be removed and relocated to accommodate the sign and confirmed the proposal meets setback and square-footage requirements for park identification signage.
A commissioner flagged a discrepancy in one drawing’s orientation; staff confirmed the sign will be perpendicular to Greensburg Road and corrected the graphic. The commission moved and voted to recommend approval of the submitted sign design.
Next steps: the recommendation advances the signage to permitting and installation planning; staff will coordinate final placement and any tree relocation with relevant departments.
