Dwight Cunningham, another applicant, outlined 15 years of local residency and a career in transportation planning, including work as a Safe Routes to School coordinator.
A board member explicitly cited diversity as a consideration in favor of Rodriguez’s appointment. After interviews and brief questions, the board voted to forward Rodriguez’s application with a favorable recommendation to City Council.
