Johns Creek BZA elects chair and vice chair; staff reports no cases for May

At its April meeting the Johns Creek Board of Zoning Appeals elected a new chair (Mister Adipathy) and vice chair (Edward Chuck Steiner) by voice vote and heard staffing updates from planning staff about a departure and a new planner hire; staff said no cases were filed for April and May is uncertain.
The Johns Creek Board of Zoning Appeals elected a chair and vice chair at its April meeting and received departmental staffing updates.
A motion to nominate Edward Chuck Steiner for chair failed for lack of a second. Board member speaker 2 then nominated Mister Adipathy for chair; the nomination received seconds and carried on a voice vote. The presiding officer announced the motion carried. Later, Edward Chuck Steiner was nominated and seconded for vice chair and the board approved that nomination by voice vote.
Staff announced that planner Alan has left the City of Johns Creek for a planner position elsewhere and that Tyler Baron has joined the Community Development Department as a planner 3 with a background as a landscape architect in the private sector. Staff said the department is recruiting to fill the vacant planner position. Agrawal also noted the department had not received any cases for April and that May’s meeting may be cancelled depending on incoming applications.
The board adjourned after a motion and second.
