Danbury City environmental commission tables Great Plain Road application, denies incomplete Mountainville Road application

The Danbury City Environmental Impact Commission met on Wednesday, June 25, and approved the minutes of its June 11 meeting before taking up several old-business land-use applications and staff updates.
The commission tabled regulated activity 1241128 at Great Plain Road at the applicant's request, moving the matter to the next regular meeting on July 9. Committee member Beth (S2) moved to table the application; the commission approved the motion by voice vote.
The commission denied regulated activity 123615 at Mountainville Road "because the application is not complete," the chair said, and denied the item without prejudice. Committee member Beth moved that denial on the grounds of incompleteness; the commission approved the motion by voice vote. The denial was recorded as "without prejudice" because the applicant's allotted time had expired, leaving the applicant free to reapply after correcting deficiencies.
The commission also noted that the applicant for regulated activity 12375 at Terry Wild Lake Road asked to withdraw the application; the chair stated a formal motion was not required to accept the withdrawal.
Staff member Larry (S3) provided updates on enforcement activity. He reported that at 200 Franklin Street the local enforcement party is arranging sediment testing. "Items 2, 3, 4, and 5, there have been no activity," Larry said, and added he will refer those matters to the town attorney. He also reported new notices of violation at 24 and 25 Myra Brook and said he was contacted by the client's son about remediation efforts at 25 Myra Brook.
Committee member Beth (S2) gave an outreach and working-group update: a canoe trip with the Housatonic Valley Authority is scheduled for Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. to review the watershed; anyone interested should submit the sign-up form. She said the working group will meet Monday, June 30 at 4 p.m. to review sections 4–7 and the accompanying model regulation sections.
For the record, Jeff (S4) was noted present later in the meeting and moved to adjourn; the commission approved the adjournment by voice vote.
The commission's next regular meeting is scheduled for July 9.
