The Castle Pines City Planning Commission on July 25 voted to postpone consideration of the Sage Point Trailhead site improvement plan (SIP 2024‑001) to Sept. 26, 2024, with the hearing scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
Chair Rance made the motion to postpone the item at the applicants’ request, noting the applicants asked for additional time to prepare responses to questions about ownership, maintenance and signage. After a second, the commission approved the postponement in a voice vote.
Community Development Director Anna Ferguson told commissioners the applicants want to be prepared to address “who’s gonna own the trailhead, who’s gonna maintain it, what kind of signage we’re gonna use,” and staff expects those questions to be answered at the rescheduled hearing.
During the same agenda discussion commissioners agreed to shift the Planning Commission’s regular start time from 6:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. going forward. Ferguson said staff will amend meeting references on affected agenda materials and called for an administrative follow-up to update notices that currently list a 6:00 p.m. start time.
The motion to reschedule the Sage Point Trailhead hearing and to adopt the earlier start time passed on a voice vote; the clerk called the roll and recorded affirmative votes from the commissioners present.
The commission also confirmed the postponed hearing will return to the Planning Commission on Sept. 26, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. in Castle Pines City Hall.
